WWE King of the Ring quarterfinals predictions: The rise of El Idolo
By Brett Grega
Andrade versus Chad Gable
Surprising as it may be, I would be lying if I didn’t say Chad Gable was the superstar who intrigues me the most in King of the Ring right now.
I don’t know if it’s those unfortunate “Shorty G” rumors, or just the fact that I’m not quite sure what WWE’s endgame with him is yet, but I can’t help but be enamored with Gable’s storyline right now.
Either way, I highly suspect I do know what’s next for Gable in King of the Ring.
No one is going to stop Andrade. He’s a former NXT Champion with insanely untapped potential on the main roster, who also just so happened to almost send Rey Mysterio into retirement because he’s apparently just that good.
WWE isn’t going to drop the ball with “El Idolo”. They’re going to make sure he gets the spotlight he deserves in this tournament, starting with a trip to the semifinals at the very least.
Now, that doesn’t mean this can’t be a competitive match. I fully expect WWE to let Chad Gable get in some offense here, and potentially give us a hint of doubt at some point.
It’s just going to stop at that, a hint. Andrade is the clear victor here, and I don’t think there’s much room for debate.
