21-Woman Casino Battle Royale for a shot at the AEW World Women’s Championship

Leva Bates, Nyla Rose, Faby Apache, Chalandra Royale, and Priscilla Kelly start the match, and Nyla Rose eliminates Apache, Royale, and Kelly very quickly. She tried to throw Bates over the top rope right away, but Bates hung onto the ropes with her feet and Peter Avalon put books on the floor to keep her from stepping directly on the floor. Unfortunately, she got back in the ring and Rose threw her out.

Penelope Ford, Sadie Gibbs, Shazza McKenzie, Big Swole, and Britt Baker made their entrance and Ford flew off the top rope wit ha kick on Rose. Shazza McKenzie tried to throw Baker out, but Baker grabbed her by the face. Shazza bit her, but Baker pulled her over the top rope by HER TEETH to eliminate her. Big Swole and Nyla fought in the middle of the ring, but Nyla eventually hit a Uranage that sent Swole onto the apron and to the floor.

Nyla hit Ford with a German suplex and then dumped her over the top rope. Tenille Dashwood, Ivelisse, Brandi Rhodes, Bea Priestly, and Awesome Kong made their way to the ring. Baker attacked Bea on the ramp. Kong slowly made her way to the ring as Dashwood, Gibbs, and Ivelisse battled.

Brandi tried to direct Kong all over the ring, but Kong accidentally dropped Brandi. Ivelisse and Dashwood attacked Kong, and Brandi hit a Stunner on Rose for a big pop. Kong eliminated Dashwood and Ivelisse. Allie, Nicole Savoy, ODB, Teal Piper, and Jazz made their way into the ring. Savoy was thrown into the ropes by Kong and Savoy hit a suicide dive through the middle ropes onto all the women on the outside.

ODB brought out her cask, but Teal Piper used a Greco Roman Eye Poke and then locked on a Sleeper Hold. Piper was thrown through the middle rope by Kong and Savoy was thrown out by Rose. ODB, Rose, Kong, and Jazz faced off. The final participant was Mercedes Martinez! Jazz and Kong were thrown out, and while Mercedes made he way to the ring, Brandi was thrown out. Martinez ran wild, running over everyone, before hitting a brutal curb stomp on Bea.

Martinez hit a huge back suplex on Rose before Allie managed to hit a Death Valley Driver on Mercedes. Nyla managed to throw out Allie. Gibbs ran wild and hit a bunch of high flying moves. Sadie tried to skin the cat after Bea threw her out, but Bea caught her and shoved her back over. Our final four are Mercedes, Baker, Rose, and Bea. Baker hit a slingblade on Mercedes. Bea went for a hurricanrana on Rose, but Rose powerbombed her.

Baker and Mercedes tried to throw out Rose, but Bea saved her and threw Baker and Mercedes to the apron. Baker superkicked Mercedes off the apron. Baker and Bea almost eliminated Rose, but Rose hung on to the ropes and hit a cartwheel kick on Baker and Bea as they ran at her. Baker hit a Canadian Destroyer on Priestly before hitting a superplex on Rose.

Baker ate a knee from Bea, but Baker sent Priestly to the floor after a springboard attempt. Priestly tried to pull Baker over the top rope and Nyla ended up taking advantage of the assist and dumped Baker to the outside for the win!

Result: Nyla Rose

Rating: **½ (2.5 stars)

A decent battle royale to open the show! Nyla Rose is going on to AEW on TNT on October 2nd and will compete for the AEW World Women’s Championship! We got a Hogan/Sid like finish, but Bea is clearly a heel, unlike Hogan, who should have been (because what a heel move that was! The even edited the boos out as the crowd was cheering Sid… anyway, I lost my thought there…)

Good match!

Private Party (Isiah Cassidy & Marc Quen) vs. Angélico & Jack Evans

Angelico and Cassidy started the match, and Evans looked intense on the apron. He can’t be happy with his record in AEW thus far, and you can tell he wants this one. Angelico and Cassidy exchanged some move attempts before Cassidy hit an armdrag that took Angelico to the mat. Both men tagged out, and Quen tried to get the advantage on Quen, and Quen lost his sunglasses in the process. Evans kicked the glasses to the outside.

Evans managed to get the advantage after Quen tagged back in and hit a springboard corkscrew enziguri on Quen before tagging out to Angelico. Evans and Angelico got the heat on Quen for a bit, with Evans locking on a wacky lucha armbar. Evans brought Quen to the other side of the ring and ran at him, but Quen hit a forearm on Evans and springboarded across the ring to make the tag to Cassidy!

Cassidy ran wild and then hit a flying hurricanrana on Angelico to the outside. Quen went for a springboard into the ring, but cut himself off as Evans ducked and hit a moonsault off the middle rope on Angelico before hitting a lionsault on Evans. Quen and Cassidy ran wild and stomped on Evans’ head. Private Party hit a From the Window to the Wall Tornado DDT, which was insane. Quen grabbed Evans’ feet and assisted Cassidy with a Destino!

Cassidy then hit a corckscrew plancha on Angelico before Quen hit a shooting star press! Cassidy was the legal man so Evans kicked out in time. Cassidy went for a moonsault, but Evans cut him off with a German Suplex. Angelico and Evans ended up on opposite ropes, but they were cut off. All four men ended up on the ropes. Quen hit an avalanche reverse rana on Evans and then Cassidy hit a second reverse rana on Evans before Quen hit a hurricanrana off the top on Angelico, sending him right into a cutter from Cassidy. Private Party win!

Result: Private Party

Rating ***¾ (3.75 stars)

Evans and Angelico attacked after the bell and tried to rip apart the legs of both men to keep them out of the Tag Title tournament. Evans screamed “We’re the best that’s ever been!” as they left, solidifying the heel turn. This was so great. The crowd showered them with boos and chanted “Party Poopers!”

A hype video aired for Wardlow, showing him beating up a series of punks. This was awesome.

MJF cut a promo that largely involved him hitting on the interviewer instead of actually answering the questions. Good heel promo.
