The Dark Order (Evil Uno & Stu Grayson) vs. The Best Friends (Chuck Taylor & Trent Beretta)

Taylor and Beretta sent the Dark Order to the floor and hugged each other. They gave a Rainmaker camera for it, and then JR said, “I think when this happens, everyone should hug the person next to them.” That is a great and friendly idea, JR. Trent and Grayson faced off as the crowd chanted “Spooky Perverts” at the Dark Order, and I sense a new T-Shirt.

Trent went for a slingshot into the ring, but Evil Uno grabbed his feet and Grayson hit a dropkick that sent Trent off the apron and into the guardrail. Uno sent Trent up for a sidewalk slam and Grayson flew off the ropes into an elbow drop. Uno sent Trent into the corner and Grayson began to work over Trent with hard strikes and a front suplex onto the top rope.

Trent tried to make the tag, but he was cut off by Evil Uno, and they continued to get the heat. Trent went for the hot tag again, but Grayson pulled Taylor off the apron! Uno and Grayson hit a combo enziguri/brainbuster, but Trent kicked out. Trent countered an attack with a Tornado (Daily?) DDT and made a diving tag. Taylor ran wild and took out both men before sending them both to the floor and hitting a tope con giro! Taylor jogged up the ramp and struck a pose to applause from the crowd.

Taylor continued to fight both men, but Grayson cut him off with a kick. Trent made the blind tag, and Taylor launched Grayson into a German suplex by Trent. They hit a crusher, but Grayson kicked out. Grayson hit a corkscrew splash onto Taylor and all the creepers, while Evil Uno hit a senton bomb onto Trent. Trent kicked out.

Evil Uno hit a cannonball on Taylor while Grayson flew over him and hit a 450 on Trent for a near fall. They went for the Fatality, but Chuck pushed Grayson off the top rope. The Best Friends then hit a series of double team moves before isolating Evil Uno. Trent picked up Evil Uno for Strong Zero, but Uno weighted too much. Uno threw Trent into the turnbuckle, but Chuck was able to stay on top of it and sent Evil Uno to the floor.

Chuck hit the Awful Waffle on Grayson, but Evil Uno pulled Trent from the ring and the Creepers beat on Trent. Evil Uno and Grayson went for the Fatality on Trent before getting the pinfall victory.

Result: The Dark Order

Rating: **¾ (2.75)

This was a solid tag match, but the lack of heat for the Dark Order wasn’t good. They might need some big angles and promos to help explain their characters. Grayson sent Trent into the guardrail after the match. The Dark Order then went to carry Trent backstage, but the lights went out and Orange Cassidy was in the middle of the ring!

Cassidy made the save and did a suicide dive while his hands were in his pockets! His sunglasses stayed on, and he rolled into the ring and just stood there while The Best Friends hugged him! It looks like we have a new stable in AEW.
