With the recent news that the AEW Title was stolen from Chris Jericho (and found within 24 hours), I have done some extensive research into the culprit of this crime.

At first, what would seem to be a heinous crime to rob AEW World Champion Chris Jericho of the thanks he deserves, is actually an understandable act of desperation from a poor soul that has been wrongly blamed for many crimes: Merick Rowan.

The last time we saw Merick, he was left in a room staring at his twin brother, Erick Rowan. As I covered previously, Merick’s attempt on Roman Reigns’ life was all because of the irresponsible reporting of one Tom Philips. SmackDown Live ended with Merick left in a room with Daniel Bryan and Erick Rowan, as Bryan demanded an apology from Roman, as it was indeed Merick that made an attempt on Roman’s life.

Now, after being left in that room, staring at his brother for a week because the camera went off with the two simply staring, it should be noted that the Rowan family is known for their ability to remain completely still, and their ability to not be seen.

After maintenance staff at the Denny Sanford Premier Center discovered Erick Rowan sitting there a few days later by trying to wash the bench he was sitting on, but finding Rowan’s beard (due to his ability to not be seen), Erick quickly realized his brother was no longer opposite him (due to his ability to not be seen, Erick didn’t realize his brother disappeared).

There was no mention of Merick on SmackDown since Merick’s first appearance. In what would first appear to be a completely dropped storyline because Vince McMahon can’t remember what he booked three minutes ago; the reality is much different. Upon finding his way out of the arena, Merick walked to Tallahassee. Being a lover of steaks, Merick was drawn to the Longhorn Steakhouse and saw a limo sitting there, waiting for the return of Chris Jericho.

Jericho, who recently won the AEW World Championship at AEW All Out on Aug. 31, was celebrating his win by enjoying a steak and “A LITTLE BIT OF THE BUBBLAY.” Merick, seeing Jericho adding the waiter to his list for bringing the steak well done, noticed that Jericho was not wearing his championship belt (as all wrestlers wear them in public, at all times.)

Merick, seeing his chance to fund his getaway, as everyone in WWE seemed to completely forget he existed, entered the limo and came across the AEW World Championship. Merick quickly took the title, then sat still, as he is very good at not being seen, and waited until Jericho realized the title was missing. Upon arriving at the police department, Merick simply walked away towards the nearest pawn shop.

Merick sold the title for $9,000,000, (a steal, really) and proceeded to sneak onto the nearest plane and fly his way out to the Cayman Islands. Merick is rumored to have been seen scouting wineries in the area, looking to reopen Rowan & Sons Vintner Enterprises under a new name: Merick & No Sons Vintner Enterprises, shortened to MAN’S Vintner Enterprises.

Merick is also rumored to also be adding a selection of fine champagne, marketed under the name “BUBBLAY Chardonnay.” So, in the end, Chris Jericho has indeed did what he promised many years ago. He saved_us.222, and indirectly saved Merick Rowan from imprisonment while allowing him to reopen his business. Surely wrestling fans will look over Merick’s attempt on Roman’s life, as he simply wants to live in peace now. So, in the end, thank you, Chris Jericho. You’ve done it again.
