4. Ricochet Defeats Baron Corbin and Samoa Joe To Advance To the King of the Ring Finals at Clash Champions

To determine the Raw finalist who will go on to face the SmackDown finalist for the King of the Ring Tournament at Clash of Champions, Ricochet, Baron Corbin, and Samoa Joe will battle in a triple threat match. Each of these superstars have a legitimate reason for coming out the victor.

Samoa Joe, who is considered by many to be the least likely to win, actually confronted Chad Gable last week on SmackDown Live to insult his chances of ever becoming King of the Ring. This could be a minor sign of Joe battling Gable in the finals of the King of the Ring Tournament, so don’t be surprised if Joe ends up being the ‘dark horse.’

Baron Corbin, whom most would hate to see become King of the Ring, was inadvertently robbed when this triple threat match was announced. Although Corbin has been defeating his opponents fair and square in each round of the King of the Ring Tournament, he was unfortunately subjected to this triple threat match due to Ricochet and Samoa Joe’s match resulting in a double pinfall.

Corbin felt that neither of them should have advanced in this tournament and he should have been given a bye, but he could still come out the victor. Considering that Kurt Angle endorsed Chad Gable as the next King of the Ring and Corbin ended Kurt Angle’s career, a potential match-up with Gable from SmackDown could be in store for the King of the Ring finals at Clash of Champions.

Despite sufficient reasons for Joe and Corbin to be the victor of this triple threat match, Ricochet is still the fan favorite and is the most likely to win and advance to the finals. He’s been ‘kicking ass and taking names’ since his United States Championship victory at Stomping Grounds and there’s probably no stopping him now.

He has the agility, athleticism, and star power inside that squared circle to become King of the Ring. Since he’s the only babyface in this triple threat match, he will very likely battle SmackDown’s Elias at Clash of Champions.
