Roman Reigns vs. Erick Rowan [No Disqualification Match]

All that glitters is not gold. As for the only match on the card that does not involve a championship, Roman Reigns and Erick Rowan have blown the minds of the WWE Universe with their mystery storyline.

Months ago, Reigns got attacked by a forklift and a car before he was going to announce his SummerSlam opponent, and it appears that the culprit for these heinous attacks all along was Erick Rowan. Quite frankly, the WWE’s lack of plans for Reigns at SummerSlam lead to his match against Rowan at Clash of Champions.

Considering that this is a no disqualification match, it’s quite fishy because Rowan could have something up his sleeve. His former comrade, Luke Harper, could always make his return and help Rowan win this match with no repercussions.

Despite such possible interruptions, there’s no doubt that Reigns would still kick out at two. Besides, Daniel Bryan and Buddy Murphy, who were very much involved in this storyline, could always assist Reigns in fending off anyone who helps Rowan.

As always, it’s safe to say that Reigns will win this match to redeem himself from all the attacks that were perpetrated against him. No matter what, betting on the Big Dog usually guarantees a jackpot.

Prediction: Roman Reigns

AJ Styles (c) vs. Cedric Alexander [United States Championship]

Day by day, Cedric Alexander has proven to be one of the most valuable stars on Monday Night Raw with his superhuman performances inside the ring. Now, he has finally earned a championship opportunity for his efforts after pinning AJ Styles in 10-man tag team action on the go-home show of Raw.

Since most of the mid-carders were busy with the King of the Ring Tournament and Styles was very much involved with the Universal Championship feud between Strowman and Rollins, Styles has trouble finding himself a challenger for the PPV. Hence, he, Gallows, and Anderson simply attacked Alexander backstage to spark a feud going into Clash of Champions.

Although this is not an ideal way to spark a feud, Styles and Alexander should be more than capable of having the match of the night this Sunday. Their pro wrestling styles mesh so well that the audience may end up wanting them to fight forever.

Only time will tell, but Styles should be safe to retain his United States Championship. He has been doing a good job with the championship, and there’s no reason to dethrone at this point in his title reign.

Although Alexander is ready to be a champion, this is his first title shot on the main roster and it’s therefore very unlikely that he wins right off the bat. Going forward, Styles’ next opponent at HIAC in October could very well be Rey Mysterio, who has wanted to win back the United States Championship he relinquished months ago to Samoa Joe.

Prediction: AJ Styles
