5.) The Miz Becomes A 9-Time Intercontinental Champion

At Clash of Champions, The Miz is scheduled to battle Shinsuke Nakamura for the Intercontinental Championship. If he defeats Nakamura, he could become a 9-time Intercontinental Champion. Although Miz has been lacking momentum lately, there are key reasons he could come out victorious at Clash of Champions.

Chris Jericho was actually a 9-time Intercontinental Champion during his time in the WWE. However, when Jericho left WWE for AEW, he probably left a sour taste in Vince McMahon’s mouth. If he did, expect The Miz to tie Jericho’s record as a 9-time Intercontinental Champion out of pure spite.

Alternatively, Nakamura could have also been booked as a placeholder champion since Finn Balor had to drop his Intercontinental Championship to go on his 2-month vacation and honeymoon. The Miz could have been the planned babyface to dethrone Nakamura all along since he is known for making the Intercontinental Championship the most prestigious title in sports entertainment today.

Many would argue that The Miz can’t win the championship since he is a Raw superstar, but the rumored draft in October could easily draft him to SmackDown Live so that the Intercontinental Championship remains on the blue brand. All in all, the Intercontinental Championship has taken the back seat very frequently as of late, and it probably does need a top star like The Miz to restore its glory.
