2.) The New Day Loses All The Gold

At Clash of Champions, Randy Orton is scheduled to battle Kofi Kingston for the WWE Championship, and The Revival is scheduled to battle The New Day for the SmackDown Tag Team Championships. With Randy Orton forming a new faction with The Revival that is very similar to his Legacy faction with Cody Rhodes and Ted Dibiase in 2009, they could dethrone The New Day entirely at Clash of Champions and take over the division.

In fact, there was apparently backstage rumors that WWE management was very impressed by Orton and The Revival as a unit, especially when they ‘injured’ Xavier Woods’ leg live on Monday Night Raw. This could be a sign of bigger things to come for Orton and The Revival and could very well result in championship victories.

Many would argue that The Revival can’t win the championships since they are a Raw tag team, but the rumored draft in October could easily draft them to SmackDown so that the SmackDown Tag Team Championships remain on the blue brand. Also, Orton and Kingston are rumored to continue their rivalry on the road to Hell in a Cell; if that’s the case, The New Day and The Revival are bound to continue theirs as well.

Unless a technicality or inconclusive result occurs in either of the matches, it would make sense that Orton and The Revival dethrone The New Day to continue this rivalry in October and headline SmackDown as the champions when it moves to Fox. As the original Legacy’s theme song would sing: “It’s a new day. It’s a new generation. And they’re never looking back.” Is it a coincidence that the theme song says ‘new day?’ Far from it.
