With the new TV deals and desire for more “sport-oriented” programming, WWE needs to make these changes to make the product feel more fresh.

It’s no secret WWE can feel a bit stale sometimes and with a desire to both bring and retain more viewership for them, here are five different ways WWE can spice up its product and give its endless pool of talent more spotlight over its current eight hours of content.

1. Reduce the number of main roster titles

There are currently nine titles that are showcased on the main roster of WWE and I believe it is way too many to balance, especially given the promotion’s history of booking poor title runs.

First things first, let’s reduce this number to six titles. I feel like these are the only championships needed on the main roster: World Heavyweight Championship, Women’s Championship, Tag Team Championship, United States Championship, Intercontinental Championship and the 24/7 Championship.

How could this change the landscape of competition? Well, a much needed Draft is rumored to be coming to WWE. With definitive rosters, it ups the stakes for every Superstar to wrestle for championships that are exclusive to their brand.

This will make the storylines revolve around each brand, bringing the cream of the crop to the top of each show to fight for a chance to challenge the champion.
