Roman Reigns vs. Erick Rowan – No Disqualification

Bassam Kaado: This is probably the most surefire pick on the card, but, man, Rowan looks so good. His promos have been on point and he has only gotten better with each match, gearing his style towards his strengths. I have gotten way more respect for Reigns, who has been showcasing his leadership skills and putting over wrestlers. Yet, it wouldn’t make sense in this story to have Roman lose. Rowan will have a hard time recovering, but I have so much respect for the Red Oak.

Bryan Heaton: If Rowan doesn’t win because of some kind of confusion with Merick Rowan, it’s the biggest waste of an opportunity since Tyler Breeze and Fandango skipped out on calling their team FaBreeze.

Chris Jeter: Why hasn’t Erick Rowan been arrested? Not only did he TRY TO KILL A MAN ON NATIONAL TELEVISION, he also framed his poor brother, Merick, for the crime and besmirched his family name. Why is he getting rewarded with the paycheck that comes with wrestling a pay-per-view match?

At least the No DQ stipulation will eliminate any chance of these two trading holds. As for who wins, Reigns feels like the safe bet here. Despite WWE’s best efforts, Rowan still feels like a lackey for the real mastermind – probably Daniel Bryan, though that wouldn’t make any sense now given that Rowan put him through a table two weeks ago – so Reigns will likely run through him in a fun match before feuding with whoever the evil genius is.

Chris Schad: Erick Rowan has been on a tear lately, being named the guy that tried to take out Roman Reigns multiple times and now says he’s not taking answers from anyone. But with Daniel Bryan not on this card at all — and this being a no disqualification match — there’s still a chance this was all some massive plan orchestrated by Bryan.

Bottom line is that we are probably getting a Bryan vs. Reigns match in the near future and this will serve as a set-up for that. I think Bryan gets involved one way or the other, but Roman winds up getting the win on the way to that match.

Joe Anthony Myrick: This is as bold of a prediction as I could ever make, but I think Rowan walks away with a win. To me at least, Rowan has looked great in this newfound push as a fresh, emerging solo monster. I think he’s gained a lot of momentum and could pick up a win to not only capitalize on the momentum, but progress this feud.

Yes, I still think this feud still has enough fuel in its tank to continue. Mostly because I find it hard to believe that Daniel Bryan isn’t involved in the attempted murder of Roman Reigns. I have a strong feeling that Rowan is merely a patsy and Bryan will be revealed as the mastermind of the operations, perhaps by helping Rowan win on Sunday.

Mark Justice: Unless Luke Harper interrupts the match to help Rowan win, Roman Reigns should win this match to avenge the heinous attacks that were done to him in the last couple of months. Believe THAT!

Maysum Hudda: A match that should have happened at SummerSlam only further prolonged the match we all really want to see between Roman Reigns and Daniel Bryan. After getting put through a table by Rowan two weeks ago, Bryan will return at some point this match and cost Reigns the victory.

Maybe Roman gets distracted by Bryan admitting it was him all along who tried to kill him, which leads us to Bryan vs Reigns at Hell In A Cell. Regardless of how it happens, I’m taking Erick Rowan.

Ryan Anderson: Erick Rowan has reinvigorated his career, as the “Diesel” style enforcer, with Daniel Bryan. Now he gets his chance to show what he can do in a singles match with Roman Reigns. Roman finally appears to be finding his voice after years of career derailing feuds with Brock Lesnar. Loads of wrestlers have helped to “make” Roman Reigns matter to fans. This match is the opportunity for Reigns to return the favor. Reigns doesn’t gain anything by winning this match. Rowan needs to show if he can hang with the top wrestlers in WWE.
