WWE: Who are the top 10 NXT exports on Raw or SmackDown?
By Tom Colohue
4. Becky Lynch
The Irish Lasskicker literally came into NXT kicking up a little Irish jib. We’re all happy that didn’t last long. None more so than Becky herself.
Lynch made a good impact on NXT. Her feud with Sasha Banks was particularly well received, but by and large, she bridged the gap during the Horsewomen era of NXT. Thankfully, as is her style, Lynch made the most of what little she had.
Upon coming up to WWE, Becky was an unfortunate afterthought. This was literally pointed out by Paige during one promo. Lynch’s match with Charlotte was overshadowed by the reappearance of Sasha Banks. In fact, Becky Lynch basically just filled a spot until the brand split.
When SmackDown became a live show, that was when Becky Lynch really started to come into her own. She was the inaugural SmackDown Women’s Champion and was booked strong during her entire time on the roster; winning major matches with the returning Mickie James and the rest of the division.
Then, the dark times came. The less said about that the better. The Man would arrive halfway through last year and the fans could not have been more ready for it.
Becky probably wouldn’t have made this list before The Man came around. But then The Man did come around and changed everything. She won a Last Woman Standing match at Evolution. She won the women’s Royal Rumble. She won the main event of Wrestlemania.
She literally put women into the main event of WrestleMania. What an impact.
3. Roman Reigns
I bet you expected Roman to be number one. I’m very happy to disappoint you.
Roman Reigns made no impact in NXT whatsoever and that definitely hurts his overall ranking here. Coming into the main roster though, has anyone ever been pushed this hard?
I mean, obviously yes, but when someone main events WrestleMania four times in a row, you really can’t question the impact that he’s had. A multiple time World Champion. A Tag Team Champion, United States Champion and Intercontinental champion. It’s worth pointing out though that most of these championship reigns were short and quite forgettable.
In fact, looking closely at most of Roman’s accolades shows some question marks popping up. Roman was the muscle of The Shield, but kind of forgot about Seth Rollins betraying him. He lost his first WrestleMania main event to someone who wasn’t in the match. His win at Survivor Series lasted no time at all, he lost a Royal Rumble to Triple H, then retired The Undertaker, except he didn’t.
Since Roman’s return early this year, he’s been involved in prominent storylines without having all that much to do overall. Roman has a huge legacy to his name but he’s not the greatest NXT export.
