Sasha Banks signs extension

Fightful.com’s Sean Ross Sapp has another big scoop, as he reports that Sasha Banks extended her contract with WWE when she made her return on the post-SummerSlam episode of Raw.

She attacked Natalya and began her feud with Becky Lynch upon returning, and she will face Lynch for the Raw Women’s Championship inside Hell in a Cell on Sunday.

Although Fightful couldn’t confirm details such as the length of the contract, which is said to be an extension of an extension signed in 2018, it’s great to hear that Banks has signed a new deal.

She’s one of the biggest stars in wrestling globally, and hopefully the money in her contract is befitting of her superstar status.

Luke Harper hasn’t re-signed?

Luke Harper has been mired in rumors regarding his future, which all seemed to be quieted by his return to WWE at Clash of Champions, reforming his partnership with Erick Rowan. But according to WrestlingNews.Co’s Angel Rodriguez, Harper hasn’t actually re-signed with WWE.

If that’s the case, this could mirror another situation on the roster, as The Revival, per Fightful.com’s Sean Ross Sapp, did not sign a new contract upon winning the SmackDown Tag Team Titles at Clash of Champions.

It’s hard to deny how interesting AEW has made contract situations in WWE.

NXT signing another wrestler?

The Wrestling Observer News’s Dave Meltzer reports, via WrestlingNews.Co’s Paul Davis, that Jiro Kirushio will likely sign with WWE’s NXT brand “shortly”.

Kirushio had a successful tryout with NXT over the summer, and is a talented rising star with multiple title reigns under his belt. His eccentric style and character work could make him a fan favorite in WWE, so he’s a high-upside signing at 27, even if most of us don’t know much about him.

Those familiar with the wrestling scene in Japan outside NJPW have spoke glowingly of Kirushio’s talent and upside.
