5. Heavy Machinery Defeats Robert Roode and Dolph Ziggler To Become The New Raw Tag Team Champions
After winning the Raw Tag Team Championships from Seth Rollins and Braun Strowman at Clash of Champions, Robert Roode and Dolph Ziggler have not defended their championships yet. They now encounter their very first title defense against the most ‘blue collar solid’ tag team in the WWE, Heavy Machinery.
Robert Roode and Dolph Ziggler are an illegitimate tag team who formed randomly on one night to become contenders for the tag team championships. Although they are both incredible performers, they should not be the reigning tag team champions for a division that should be dominated by legitimate tag teams.
On the other hand, Otis and Tucker are masters at combat athletics due to their well-roundedness and years of experience in tag team wrestling. They continue to impose their diverse wrestling styles onto the other tag teams on the roster, thereby making their opponents too uncomfortable to win the match.
This is the kind of tag team the WWE Universe needs as tag team champions. This is a tag team that has been working on their craft for years, and should not be treated as a joke on the main roster, especially after being promoted very ‘heavily’ as two of the prime NXT candidates to succeed on Raw and SmackDown.
With Heavy Machinery losing their opportunities at the SmackDown Tag Team Championships to Daniel Bryan and Rowan at WWE Stomping Grounds as well as The New Day at Extreme Rules, it’s only a matter of time until they stop ‘choking’ on their steaks and start winning championships.
In fact, a title win would be a profound introduction for them on the Raw brand with the draft coming up.
To hint even more at a title win for Heavy Machinery, they were in a recent backstage interview with Kayla Braxton, who asked them about their thoughts on AOP. This could be a sign of future booking for a feud between AOP and Heavy Machinery, and it would be even better if it was for the Raw Tag Team Championships.
Besides, Robert Roode and Dolph Ziggler are not well known for holding onto championships for very long. Thus, crowning new Raw Tag Team Champions should not only be the correct booking decision, but also something of a foregone conclusion.
This title win could even set up a championship rematch at Hell in a Cell, easily adding another match to the card until Heavy Machinery has to deal with AOP.
