1. Seth Rollins Defeats Rey Mysterio To Retain The Universal Championship

Last week on Raw, Rey Mysterio won a fatal five way elimination match against Robert Roode, AJ Styles, Shinsuke Nakamura, and Ricochet to become the next number one contender for Seth Rollins’ Universal Championship on this episode of WWE Raw.

Despite not being in the main event, Mysterio stole the show last week and won that match for his son, Dominick, and his deceased friend, Eddie Guerrero.

Meanwhile, Seth Rollins battled in the main event against Braun Strowman in what was a Clash of Champions rematch.

During that bout, Strowman presumably won the match via disqualification due to interference by ‘The Fiend’ Bray Wyatt, who is Rollins’ official opponent for the Universal Championship at Hell in a Cell.

With Rollins already scheduled to battle Bray Wyatt at Hell in a Cell, it is foreseeable that Mysterio has no chance of dethroning Rollins before then.

Consequently, it is widely expected that Rollins will retain the WWE Universal Championship and get attacked by Wyatt post-match to close Raw.

However, there is a wild card to consider: Braun Strowman. When it comes to Braun, he attained an inconclusive victory over the Universal Champion last week and definitely won’t take such an attack by his former Wyatt leader, Bray Wyatt, very lightly without providing some payback.

Therefore, the real question to consider here is: Will Strowman be added to the Universal Title Match at HIAC with Rollins and Wyatt for a triple threat?

We’ll have to wait and see until the Raw Season Premiere airs live at 8 p.m. ET/5 p.m. PT on the USA Network.
