By 2016, The Miz was just over a decade in WWE at this point. Despite all of his accomplishments and becoming a Grand Slam Champion, a lot of people criticized The Miz constantly, often calling him overrated or even lackluster on both the mic and in the ring. Judging by this promo, all of the criticisms simply lit a fire under him and when it came time to pull out a worked shoot promo on Talking Smack, The Miz was ready to prove his haters wrong.
He cut the promo of his life and became the biggest talking point among WWE’s fans that week. Even further, everything he did on SmackDown and Talking Smack that year instantly became must see TV. From this point going forward, fans started viewing Miz in a whole new light and starting praising him a little more highly than they had in previous years.

The Miz molded himself into one of the very best talkers on the roster years prior, but seeing him speak so passionately on the mic without a script to work off of in this moment, it proved to a lot of his doubters just how legit The Miz was.
