AEW Dark: Results, Grades, and Analysis for October 15, 2019
The Dark Order (Stu Grayson & Evil Uno) (2-0) & Hybrid2 (Jack Evans & Angelico) (1-3) vs. SoCal Unceonsored (Christopher Daniels, Frankie Kazarian, & Scorpio Sky) (3-0) & CIMA (1-3)
Angelico and CIMA started the match with CIMA getting the early advantage with a few armdrags and a pinfall attempt. CIMA tagged out to Christopher Daniels, and Daniels came in and attacked. Stu Grayson was tagged in, but Daniels outwrestled him at first. Daniels’ advantage was stopped immediately wit ha dropkick by Grayson. Daniels hit the STO on Grayson and a tilt-a-whirl sideslam.
SCU and CIMA all attacked Grayson in the corner, as the whole crew chanted SCU, including CIMA. That was great. Daniel and Evans were in the ring, but Evans stuck his thumb into the eyes of Daniels. Grayson came in and covered Daniels, but Daniels kicked out. Grayson slammed Daniels and sent him to the apron.
Grayson hit a flipping senton onto Daniels, who was laying on the apron. Evil Uno tagged in and started to beat on Daniels. Evans hit a handspring back elbow, and Angelico hit a flying kick on Daniels, but Daniels kicked out. Uno pulled Daniels into the corner and crushed him as he tried to escape. Uno and Grayson hit a combo sideslam and legdrop for a near fall. Jack Evans then did a triple handspring eye gouge, which was amazing.
Daniels hit a powerbomb on Evans and slowly made his way to Kazarian, who ran wild. Kazarian killed Angelico and did an O’Connor Roll on Grayson, but as Grayson kicked out he sent Kaz into Evil Uno with a spear. Kazarian hit a hurricanrana over the top rope to the floor on Grayson that sent Grayson flying into a spear on Uno.
Sky hit a moonsault to the floor but only hit Uno. Back in the ring, all 8 men started to exchange big moves, with Daniels hitting Angel’s Wings on Evil Uno. Sky hit a neckbreaker on Evans. Evil Uno distracted the referee as Angelico and Evans low blowed Sky to get a pinfall victory over Sky.
Result: Hybrid2 (2-3) & The Dark Order (3-0)
Rating **3/4 (2.75 stars)
Cody Rhodes interviewed AEW referee Aubrey Edwards. Edwards said WWE wasn’t interested, and Cody pointed out that Edwards is a person that would ask “What’s missing?” and that WWE is a place that doesn’t tell you. Edwards went from that to “What can I do?” and it highlighted how she went from her WWE rejection to refereeing the main event of AEW All Out. This was absolutely fantastic.
A highlight video aired about The Young Bucks vs. Private Party from AEW Dynamite.
