Dominik Dijakovic and Keith Lee
If you made a list of the best current big man wrestlers and you don’t have Dominik Dijakovic and Keith Lee on it, tear that list up and put it through a shredder. These are two of the most athletically gifted behemoths in the industry today, and they once again lived up to that lofty standard in the fourth match of their critically-acclaimed series.
Dijakovic and Lee gave viewers everything they’ve come to expect in a Dijakovic/Lee match: strikes that rattle your eardrums, seemingly-superhuman feats of strength, and highspots usually reserved for wrestlers at least half their size. You could argue that this was on its way to being the match of the night, maybe even match of the week…until the finish.
Which brings us to the dumbest wrestler on Earth: Roderick Strong. The NXT North American Champion and the rest of his Undisputed Era buddies started the show by showing footage of a backstage attack on the supposed number one contender to Strong’s title, The Velveteen Dream, presumably in hopes of getting Strong’s title defense for the following week.
Then when general manager Willam Regal made Dijakovic/Lee a number one contender’s match for the North American Title, Stong — playing the role of Wile E. Coyote, super genius — attacked both men to draw the no contest and to avoid facing both men, a plan that a wrestler would only think would work if they had never watched a wrestling show before.
Even Regal noted that Strong “was clever, but not clever enough” before booking a triple threat between Strong, Dijakovic, and Lee. Now we get to see these monstrous men do battle again, this time with superb Strong added to the mix. But go back and watch this match or, at the very least, track down a clip of Lee executing a flawless poison rana on Dijakovic.
