Killer Kross

He may be absent from IMPACT programming at the moment (and likely will be until they agree on the terms of his release), but Killer Kross had a strong first half of 2019.

The former Lucha Underground star wasn’t known by many fans prior to his debut in the company in the summer of 2018, but he made an immediate splash on the scene through his alliance with Austin Aries.

Kross served as a heavy for Aries during his reign as Impact World champion, and although he played the role well, he was largely a background player up until Aries left the promotion last October.

He was finally able to establish himself as a force to be reckoned with coming into 2019 by positioning himself as a threat to the Impact World Championship.

Although he was never able to capture the champion, he did secured various victories over the likes of Johnny Impact and Brian Cage. He then entered an entertaining rivalry with Eddie Edwards where he had a chance to show his full range as a performer, specifically in vignettes that aired depicting him as an unpredictable lunatic.

Although Kross came up short against Edwards the two times they went one-on-one, he looked strong in defeat on both occasions. He was then promptly taken off TV likely due to his ongoing contract dispute with the company, and as of now, it doesn’t look like we’ll be seeing him on IMPACT! Wrestling any time soon, if ever again.

Once his contract expires and he’s free to sign wherever he chooses, any company would be lucky to have him.

Despite the gripes he has with what’s currently making for money in IMPACT and/or the way he’s been booked, there’s no denying that their platform helped him become the star he is today.
