IMPACT Wrestling: 5 most improved superstars in 2019

Moose

Moose has been with IMPACT significantly longer than anyone else featured on this list, which is why his growth has been the most impressive in 2019.

Following a two-year stint with Ring of Honor (where he went from being incredibly inexperienced to one of their top prospects), he joined IMPACT in the summer of 2016 and served as Mike Bennett’s bodyguard for a brief period.

Once he broke away from The Miracle, he was expected to be elevated to the main event scene in no time.

He had a fine reign as Impact Grand champion, but didn’t have many remarkable matches. The remainder of his run as a babyface wasn’t anything special, and saw him get beat by everyone from Bobby Lashley to Eli Drake.

Moose’s loss to Austin Aries in the main event of Slammiversary 2018 was the catalyst behind his heel turn a few months later.

Like Killer Kross, he was overshadowed by Aries for the final few months of the year, but broke out as an Impact World Championship challenger at the beginning of 2019.

From there, the former football player channeled his inner egomaniac and completely reinvented himself as a heel. He altered his signature entrance music, started wearing robes, and adapted an aggressive in-ring style that has seen him make an example out of everyone he has gone up against.

He’s cut the best promos of his entire career in the past few months alone, and has benefited from working with legends such as Rob Van Dam and now Ken Shamrock.

If he can continue to build momentum, there’s nothing stopping him from fulfilling his destiny of winning the world title within the next year.
