NWA Powerrr Episode 3: Recap, Ratings and Reactions
After Galli and Cornette resituated themselves, the camera cut to the ring for our first match of the show.
Marti Belle vs. Crystal Rose
Belle started off with a waistlock, but Rose quickly landed an elbow to the face to force a break. Belle responded with a hip toss, a corner hurricanranana and a running elbow in the corner to gain the advantage. She then tripped Rose’s legs, but Rose barely avoided a running knee attempt.
Rose then follows up with stomps in the same corner before leaping and driving her knees into Belle. After a rope choke and some kicks, Rose picked Belle up in a fireman’s carry, but Belle delivered a trio of elbows, slipped out, scored with a pair of clotheslines, a rolling forearm, a corner forearm and a hip attack in the corner. She then hit her Hells Bells finisher (similar to The Pedigree) for the win.
Winner: Belle via pinfall
Rating: *1/4. This was fine for the time they were given. The story was pretty basic and these two didn’t do anything spectacular, but it got the audience familiar with Belle’s moveset, which seemed to be the goal. It would’ve been nice to hear a follow-up promo from Belle, though.
Dave Marquez then interviewed the Dawsons who entered to massive — for this crowd — heat. Marquez asked them why they attacked Kingston and Homicide last week. They basically said that “things happen for a reason” and it was time for them to “throw their weight around” and that they would face anyone in the locker room “except for those two” (Homicide and Kingston). Solid heel promo.
