Peter Avalon came out, shushing the crowd. He cut a promo about how horrible North Carolina was. Moxley walked out through the crowd to a massive pop, and he came into the ring and murdered Avalon. This was fantastic. Mox grabbed a mic and talked about how the match was an unsanctioned match.

Mox was mad that officially the match didn’t count as it was unsanctioned. This made Moxley angry as he didn’t want AEW to limit him and that they would be embarrassed if he beat Omega. Moxley said that he wasn’t stupid and that they can shove their win/loss record if that’s the case. He said he was unsanctionable, and that they haven’t seen anything yet. He promised that Kenny Omega’s blood would be on AEW’s hands. He had a message for the Turner executives “Kiss my a** and stay out of my way.” INCREDIBLE PROMO.

The Lucha Brothers (Rey Fenix & Pentagon Jr.) (5-2) vs. SoCal Uncensored (Frankie Kazarian & Scorpio Sky) (5-3) – AEW World Tag Team Championship

All four men started brawling as it’s very personal here with The Lucha Bros injuring Christopher Daniels. Pentagon Jr hit the pumphandle driver and got a 2 count right at the start. This was after both Bros hit a double superkick on Sky. Pentagon called for the Package Piledriver but Sky broke it up.

Sky got nailed with a sling blade for it. Kazarian hit Pentagon, but Fenix came in and ran across he ropes and kicked Kazarian in the face. Kazarian hit a double clothesline on the Lucha Bros to make a comeback. Kaz slammed Fenix and hit a springboard legdrop on Fenix. Pentagon tried to kick Kaz, but Kaz pulled Fenix up and Pentagon accidentally kicked Fenix in the back.

Sky hit a hurricanrana to the outside on Pentagon. Kazarian hit a German suplex on Fenix for a 2 count. Fenix gouged Kaz’s eyes and ran up the top rope, jumped over Sky’s clothesline while balanced on the ropes, landed on the middle rope, spring boarded back up to the top rope and hit a lucha armdrag on Kazarian. Pentagon hit a superkick on Sky on the floor.

Fenix sent Kazarian to the floor and Fenix hit a leg drop over the top rope to the floor onto Kazarian who was balanced on Pentagon’s knees. Holy crap. Fenix hit a big legdrop on Kazarian, but he kicked out at 2. Pentagon kicked Kaz in the leg and tagged Fenix in. Fenix taunted Sky and he came into the ring, but the ref got him out.

Fenix hit a dropkick on Kazarian and got a two count. Fenix tried to get a cross armbreaker on Kaz, but Kaz rolled out and started to hit both men before hitting Angel’s Wings on Fenix! Kazarian used Christopher Daniel’s finisher! Sky tagged in and took out both men. Sky ran at Pentagon, but Sky was sent to the apron. Sky came back over with a headscissors on Pentagon.

Sky hit the ropes and hit a tope con giro on Pentagon and Kazarian tried to do a hurricanrana off the apron onto the floor on Fenix, but Kazarian’s foot got caught in the ropes and he almost hit his head on the floor. Sky and Kazarian both hit DDTs on the Lucha Bros for a 2 count. Sky and Kaz went for SCU Later, but Pentagon hit a Canadian Destroyer on Kaz while Fenix hit a cutter on Sky for a 2 count.

More from All Elite Wrestling

Fenix and Sky crashed into each other with a cross body and they were left down. Pentagon caught Kazarian on the apron and powerbombed him through the ringside timekeeper’s table! Sky ate a superkick from Pentagon and Fenix stood on Pentagon’s shoulders and hit a splash for a 2 count. Sky cradled Pentagon when they went for the double stomp/package piledriver and Kazarian cut off Fenix. Sky pinned Pentagon! SCU are your first ever AEW World Tag Team Champions!

Result: SoCal Uncensored (6-3)

Rating: **** (4 stars)

This was a great title match, but it felt like it was a bit of an abrupt ending. Still excellent, and it shows that AEW is taking their tag team division seriously. SCU celebrated as the show went off the air.

Show Rating: ****1/2 (4.5 stars)

AEW did a wonderful job building to Full Gear on this PPV, providing us with a lot to think about going into it. AEW Full Gear is shaping up to be a fantastic PPV with two blow away main events in Chris Jericho vs. Cody and Kenny Omega vs. Jon Moxley. We’re also going to have Santana and Ortiz vs. the Young Bucks, and Hangman Page vs. PAC. We are probably going to find out the rest of the card next week on the go-home show. I can’t wait to see what AEW has in store.

Next. Should AEW stop referencing WWE?. dark

Every single week AEW seems to coming closer and closer to finding their feet with how they produce a show, and this one was more promo heavy than usual, but it worked very well. Everything AEW did in the storytelling department felt genuine and if AEW can continue producing promos and stories like this, they are going to be fine for a long time to come. AEW has shown a commitment to making everything matter, and while they have failed in some respects, they are learning from those mistakes. I loved this show. AEW has hit another home run.
