We then go to a video that recaps the last three weeks of Kamille not saying anything (it’s more interesting than I’m making it sound), which served to promote a Twitter Q&A with Aldis’ insurance policy.

After a plug for their December PPV, we go to David Marquez, who was standing by with Trevor Murdoch. Murdoch went through the “I’ve worked hard for everything I have” spiel before saying that he was in the NWA for a full-time contract.

He talked about how he called the NWA office and begged them to lift Josephus’ suspension (which was mentioned in a news video uploaded before the show) for throwing powder in Colt Cabana’s face last week (good thing Asuka doesn’t work there) so Murdoch could face him in a match. This led to Murdoch calling out Josephus so they could settle things “like men”. Murdoch finished by saying that he would face anyone to get his contract.

After about a minute, Josephus obliged Murdoch’s request. He rambled for a bit about experiencing “humiligrations” from “Corgan Shapeshifters”. He then said that his spiritual adviser authorized “all sorts of violence” for “Murdoch, Trevor”. Murchoch then told him to “get his @$$ in the ring” so they could handle business.

Murdoch then made his way to the ring, but before he could get in, Josephus lightly shoved him into the ring post (Murdoch did most of the work there). He got a couple more shots in on Murdoch before rolling him into the ring. Like a moron, the referee subsequently rang the bell.

Trevor Murdoch vs. Josephus

Josephus kept the offense going once the match officially started, delivering forearms and headbutts to his weakened opponent. Josephus whipped Murdoch into the ropes, but Murdoch caught the bent over Josephus with a kick on the rebound and uncorked a big lariat.

Murdoch followed up with two more and made it halfway through the 10 punches in the corner spot before Josephus grabbed both of Murdoch’s legs and dropped him headfirst into the top turnbuckle.

As the dumb ref checked on Murdoch, Josephus yanked a plastic bag filled with powder out of his bag, but before he could use it, Murdoch kicked the open bag into Josephus’ face. Murdoch then grabbed Josephus’ hair, ascended the to second rope, and hit his signature bulldog for the win.

Winner: Murdoch via pinfall

Rating: 3/4*. What good referee would let the heel start the match with an unfair advantage? At least let the babyface get his bearings before ringing the bell. That aside, this was fine for what it was. Josephus looks like a goof for getting an edge before the match and immediately losing it a minute later, but if the first few episodes have shown anything, it’s that you aren’t supposed to take him too seriously as an in-ring threat.
