WWE Women’s Tag Team Titles: The Kabuki Warriors vs. Dakota Kai & Teagan Nox

When the Women’s Tag Team Titles were first announced, the thought was that the belts would be defended on Raw, SmackDown and NXT. After months of almost being an afterthought on the main shows, the belts will finally be defended on the yellow brand against the intriguing team of Dakota Kai and Teagan Nox.

The concept of Kairi Sane and Asuka returning to NXT is an interesting one as both have a major role in the history of the brand. Sane established herself as one of the most popular competitors during her time with NXT while Asuka is one of the most dominant competitors (male or female) in the history of the yellow brand. That type of connection with the fans may give them a couple of extra cheers despite turning on Paige on Monday night.

Their opponents also have a solid story as both Kai and Nox are still in the early weeks of returning from severe knee injuries. They were both able to overcome that against Marina Shafir and Jessamyn Duke to earn this title shot, but it’s possible they’re not quite done with them or their leader Shayna Baszler.

As far as a prediction, Nox and Kai both have a bright future, but they may not be ready to be showcased on Raw or SmackDown, which is what would happen if they won the titles. With Sane and Asuka mired in a big storyline with Becky Lynch, the odds are the titles aren’t going anywhere.

Prediction: The Kabuki Warriors
