Dr. Death Steve Williams and Stunning Steve Austin vs Barry Windham and Dustin Rhodes – Halloween Havoc 1992

This match is a great example of the benefits of the WWE Network. It is difficult for most readers to remember a time where Stone Cold Steve Austin wasn’t the Texas Rattlesnake. If you ask most fans about their memories of Dr. Death Steve Williams, sadly, he might be best remembered as the guy from Brawl for All, or worse, that awful run in the late 1990s WCW.

Barry Windham should be remembered as one of the first big guys who could have a great 60-minute matches with anyone. By the same sword, for most, Dustin Rhodes has always been Goldust.

That is not an indictment of any of those four men. It is difficult to remember every great professional wrestler who WWE forgets to consider a legend.

When all four men locked up at Halloween Havoc, it was a masterclass of tag team wrestling. Austin showed flashes of the great professional wrestler he would become. Dr. Death Steve Williams was in this prime as the big hoss style wrestler that he was in Japan. Windham and Rhodes excelled as the babyface tag team.

What makes this match special is the credibility all four men had with the crowd. It is great to take a ride down memory lane to watch wrestlers that may have slipped through the WWE history books.
