AEW Dynamite heads to Bojangles Coliseum tonight for the final show prior to AEW Full Gear. Which new matches could we see made for that event?

Just days before the first AEW pay-per-view since their TNT debut, AEW descends upon the Bojangles Coliseum in Charlotte, NC for the final build to Full Gear. We’ve already got several confirmed matches for Full Gear, but we can probably expect some more to materialize at Dynamite.

So far, we’ve got two confirmed matches and only one confirmed segment for this episode of AEW Dynamite:

AEW Dynamite Full Advertised Card

  • PAC vs. Trent
  • Kenny Omega & “Hangman” Adam Page vs. AEW World Champion Chris Jericho & Sammy Guevara
  • Cody makes a career announcement

The first of these two advertised matches, PAC vs. Trent, could promise to be a surprisingly high-quality contest. While Trent is primarily known for his prolific tag team wrestling, including four reigns as IWGP Jr. Heavyweight Tag Team Champion alongside Rocky Romero, Trent is no slouch when it comes to singles competition.

On the other side of the ring, PAC is in dire need of momentum heading into his Full Gear collision with “Hangman” Adam Page. While PAC is still undefeated in singles competition, he’s had a rough few weeks.

More from All Elite Wrestling

PAC is still feeling the effects of being pinned in tag team action, thanks to Jon Moxley’s cursed and sudden but inevitable betrayal of him. He’ll be looking for a dominant win over Trent, which is the most likely outcome, but don’t underestimate one-half of Best Friends.

The second confirmed match of the night will be tag team action as Chris Jericho joins forces with the blue-chip prospect of The Inner Circle, Sammy Guevara, to take on Kenny Omega and “Hangman” Adam Page. We actually saw three-quarters of this match back on the second episode of Dynamite, but Page teamed that night with Dustin Rhodes.

While I’m reluctant to call Dustin Rhodes a “weak link” in that equation, he was the one who fell victim to The Judas Effect by Chris Jericho and took the pinfall. Kenny Omega has been slowly building momentum, despite a lackluster record, and this could be the perfect opportunity for him or Page to try and pin the reigning AEW World Champion.

The final thing we can definitely expect is a “career announcement” from Cody. Don’t ask me exactly what that means, because it’s not at all clear. Cody actually attempted to make the announcement a few weeks ago, but was interrupted by Chris Jericho and The Inner Circle. AEW has continued to use the “career announcement” wording as Cody declared he’ll be making that reveal tonight.

Three potential challengers for Riho at AEW Full Gear. dark. Next

Hopefully, we’ll also see two championship matches set up for AEW Full Gear. SCU became the inaugural AEW World Tag Team Champions last week, and AEW Women’s World Champion Riho has been unbeatable so far. Both titles need challengers, and we could see matches to determine those contenders tonight.
