Taya Valkyrie (c) vs. Tenille Dashwood – Knockouts Championship

The history between these two traces back to the very beginning of both women’s career as – believe it or not – both Taya Valkyrie and Tenille Dashwood trained at the Lance Storm Academy and Taya’s her very first opponent in her very first match was Tenille Dashwood. It all came full circle at Bound for Glory when Taya defeated Tenille to remain the current and longest reigning Knockouts Champion.

Although, it is worth noting that Tenille may have been seconds away from the win if she had went for the kill when she had the opportunity. Instead, she picked up and considered using a chain introduced by Taya’s manager, John E. Bravo. Granted, Tenille discarded of the chain quickly, but that quick glance at the chain allowed Taya to recover long enough to hit her Road to Valhalla finisher.

It seems this rematch is happening to tie up that loose end, but likely nothing more so do not expect a title change. Especially when Taya has already kicked off a new title feud with Jordynne Grace on the more recent episodes of Impact. No need to pull out of these new plans so early.

Prediction: Taya Valkyrie
