Rob Van Dam vs. Rhino

In one of the more interesting developments to happen in Impact Wrestling as of late (and arguably the wrestling landscape as a whole), Rob Van Dam turned heel at Bound for Glory after suddenly turning on his tag team partner, Rhino. RVD has not worked as a heel since probably the earliest days of ECW, so the prospect in itself is fascinating. Especially now that he’s cutting promos directly calling out names like Kenny Omega and Daniel Bryan for “stealing” his moveset.

It appears as though, judging from his promo explanations, RVD got tired of living in the past alongside ECW Originals like Rhino when in the present, he’s living his best life with his wife and his wife’s girlfriend. Though, Rhino was none too pleased about this as he nearly went through a rampage on the last Impact looking for RVD backstage. When RVD was nowhere to be found, he challenged RVD to a match at Turning Point. And now, here we are.

Given how intense this feud has kicked off already, I find trouble believing that a basic singles match could cool things down. I’ll be bold and say that we might see a No Contest or, dare I say, a DQ finish. Likely, with Rhino going too far after being blinded by rage enough to introduce a weapon to batter his former mate. It gets RVD the DQ victory, but it gives Rhino the chance to stand tall. Expect a more hardcore follow-up in the future.

Winner (by DQ): RVD
