Impact Wrestling Turning Point 2019: Full card preview and predictions
Fallah Bahh vs. Moose
After speaking his first legit words on the first episode of IMPACT on AXS TV, Fallah Bahh has been on something of a brand new push during the brand new era for the company. The following episode of Impact saw him go the distance with Michael Elgin and nearly pull an upset with a wildly impressive performance that was a far cry from his past comedic efforts. We could see something similar with Moose tonight.
Like the Elgin match, there’s no storyline to speak of and no clear direction moving forward for either man, so this could go either way. I’m tempted to say that Bahh gets the upset win to establish him as something to be taken seriously, but after Moose got arguably the biggest win of his career at Bound for Glory after defeating Ken Shamrock, I find it hard to believe that he’s befallen by a sneaky win from a guy who only just started forming complete sentences.
Prediction: Moose
Eddie Edwards vs. Shera
At Bound for Glory, Eddie Edwards won the right to challenge for any championship he wanted to challenge for after winning the Call Your Shot Battle Royal. He still has a shot to call, but that shot is on the line against the returning, and more serious and determined Shera. This is another one that could go either way and Shera very well could pull an upset.
However, given Edwards’ history with both the World Champion and the X-Division Champion, I see more storyline potential in Edwards using his shot to renew one of those feuds with a title on the line rather than Shera getting an upset just to get a title match we know he won’t win because he has no prior history with any of the champs.
Prediction: Eddie Edwards
Ace Austin (c) vs. Jake Crist – X-Division Championship
Ace Austin pulled off an upset win of his own at Bound for Glory during the 5-person Ladder Match for Jake Crist’s X-Division Championship. Now, Crist gets his rematch clause and with both men being heels, this could present a fun dynamic.
In theory, this could go either way, but with Austin having just won this belt two weeks ago and since oVe doesn’t need another belt in the stable when they have the top prize in their possession, all signs point to a retain from Austin.
Prediction: Ace Austin
