Ali
Because these are my articles and I can pick whoever the hell I want whether they’re actually realistic or not, I’m picking Ali. You don’t like it? Tough. Make your own list that’s more “realistic”.
Ali really needs to get a solid babyface push around WrestleMania season – and not just because he suffered an injury around that time period in 2019.
No, it’s because Ali is literally really flipping good. The guy cuts better babyface promos than almost everyone on the main roster, because there’s actually a deeper meaning to everything he says. Ali is out here teaching life lessons in his promos, and his character is REAL. When he speak, you listen to him because you don’t have to suspend disbelief to imbibe his words; he is literally speaking from the heart. Hell, he was the Heart of 205 Live.
Ali isn’t going to win WWE Royal Rumble 2020. Even I’m not blatantly biased enough to pick him as the winner. But like, WWE has to use the Rumble to make babyfaces look bad-ass, and Ali already had a highly impressive showing in his first Rumble last year.
So WWE should have him build on what he did in 2019 by having him make it all the way to the top four before being eliminated by a strong heel, such as Rollins. Make it a heartbreaking moment in the match in which Ali holds on for dear life and it looks like he’s about to actually do the damn thing, only to have his heart torn out of his body by a merciless maneuver from the villain.
Ali pulls at our heart strings like nobody else on the WWE main roster. You gotta take advantage of that in matches of this magnitude.
