2. Alexa Bliss

An admittedly more likely, but still equally exciting superstar who could potentially win the Royal Rumble is Alexa Bliss.

Bliss is currently out with a reported shoulder injury according to PWInsider’s Mike Johnson. If Fox Sports’ statement on the Friday Night SmackDown star’s absence is anything to go by however, it certainly sounds as though she’ll be healthy by time Royal Rumble rolls around.

That’s great news for WWE, as I could easily see Bliss becoming an even bigger star in the company come WrestleMania season.

Before her aforementioned injury and her feud with The Kabuki Warriors came to at least a momentary conclusion, Bliss was a clear babyface for one of the first times in her career.

Despite the fact that she had just lost the women’s tag titles, she didn’t turn on Nikki Cross like many were expecting. Now that’s not to say that couldn’t have happened down the road here, but it seemed like a promising sign to me that their partnership was still going strong.

Alexa Bliss is one of the best superstars on the mic in WWE. She has what it takes to sell what could be an incredibly face run. All she needs is the opportunity.

Royal Rumble could be that opportunity for Bliss. It would be a chance for her to deliver a gutsy performance that really solidified the fact that she’s now a face to fans.

It would then also potentially set her up for a WrestleMania encounter with Bayley, who just so happened to have beat Bliss’ former tag partner in a world title match recently. There’s any number of routes WWE could go with booking a feud between the two of them from there.

No matter what direction WWE settled on though, it would certainly be beneficial for everyone involved.

Bayley would get a superstar who’s no stranger to selling marquee matchups on the mic, and Bliss would get the chance to prove herself as a face against a red hot heel. Meanwhile, WWE gets two superstars to reach even greater heights by virtue of an assuredly great WrestleMania feud and match.

It seems like a win-win to me then, and one that fans shouldn’t rule out if Bliss’ unmistakable entrance theme hits during the Royal Rumble.
