Sami Callihan and Madman Fulton (oVe) vs. Tessa Blanchard and Rich Swann

They immediately hit the ring and superkick both men, sending Callihan out the ring before they double team Madman. Tessa on Madman’s shoulders, but he’s swinging her around like a ragdoll until Swann hits a kick to the mid-section, allowing Tessa to hit a Back Stabber.

Swann hits a Phoenix Splash on the outside by Swann to both opponents. Swann and Madman remain down on the floor.

Staredown by Sami and Tessa. Tessa hits the ropes, but Madman sweeps the legs to distract her. Sami clotheslines her, then nails a brainbuster. Trash talk from Sami. Tessa fights her way to make a hot tag. He runs in like a brick house on fire, knocking Madman off the apron before duking it out with Sami. Madman runs in to help Sami, and they hit this double team move I can’t even explain. All I can say is you have to see it to believe it because it looked dope.

Madman gets the tag and stomps out Swann before wrenching his arm against the ropes. Then a knee to the back for a two count. Tag back to Sami. Madman scoop slams Swann and Sami hits an elbow drop for a two count before we get a rest hold spot.

As is the usual case with these spots, Swann fights his way out. But Sami knocks him right back down before tagging Madman. Sami drives his knee into Swann’s neck before Madman hits a splash for a two count. Then a jumping standing headbutt from Madman before just stomping away at the babyface’s back. Then a rest a hold bearhug. Swann nearly fights out before Madman hits an Overhead Suplex.

Tag back to Sami, who continues to get the heat on Swann as the crowd chants “We Want Tessa! *clap clap clap clap* We Want Tessa!” Sami locks in a rest hold of his own as the crowd chant “Sami fears Tessa!”

Swann avoids a Piledriver attempt to make the hot tag. Babyface comeback. Madman tries to interfere, but gets a DDT for his troubles. Cutter to Sami before attempting a Magnum from the middle rope, but Sami evades it. He pushes Tessa into Madman, who clobbers her in the back. Swann kicks Madman out the ring before hitting a big knee to lay out Sami. Tessa tags Swann. Callihan evades a moonsault, but can’t evade a DDT.

Tessa suicide dives onto Madman, but he catches her. Swann finishes the job by dropkicking Tessa into Handspring Moonsault for a two count.Swann picks him up, but Sami rakes the eyes. He picks up his bat. Ref tries to fight the bat away from him. Sami seemingly reluctantly gives it to the ref, but as the ref is getting the bat out the ring, Madman tosses the Impact World Championship to his leader and he clobbers Swann over the head. By time the ref turns back around, Sami is pinning Swann and gets the win.

oVe continue to beatdown Swann after the match. Tessa attempts to make the save, but Callihan hits her in the back of the head with his championship. They continue the beatdown, but Brian Cage – for the first time in two weeks since

Callihan hightails it out of there, leaving his Madman to slug it out with Cage, who hits Fulton with an F5. oVe retreat to the ramp as Cage stands tall.

Winners: oVe

Grade: B+

They might’ve had just a few too many rest holds (though I get it, when you need a rest, you need a rest), but aside from that, this match was fantastic.

Interviewer backstage asks what’s next for Brian Cage. He says he’s not done with oVe or the World Champion, so he demands to be a part of next week’s number one contender’s match to decide Sami Callihan’s next challenger.

John E. Bravo and Taya Valkyrie prepare to leave the arena, but Jordynne Grace approaches her, still demanding the title shot she feels she’s owed. Taya clarifies that she can’t just challenge her on a whim. Jordynne says it does not need to be a title match and can be any match she wants. Bravo accepts the challenge on his client’s behalf, and Jordynne proposes taking them both on in a handicap match for next week.

Moose tackles yet another sport to prove he is the greatest athlete in the world. After mentioning he will win next week’s elimination match, he is going to prove he is the greatest tennis player of all time, alongside “professional tennis player,” Mikey. Mikey’s been playing for 20 years, but Moose promises to score at least one point on him today.

So Moose subtly threatens breaking Moose’s back right beforehand, so out of fear, he just lets Moose win and score a few points out on him. “You’re a natural, Moose!” Mikey says with his voice trembling. These segments are getting funnier and I hope they never end.
