The New Day vs. The Revival – SmackDown Tag Team Championship

For the better part of 2019, The Revival and The New Day have faced off against each other again and again … and again … and again … and again … and again … and again … and ag- well, you get the gist of it.

Not that I’m complaining. More often that not, these two teams have solidified themselves as two of the best tag teams on the WWE roster in some near perfect, classic match-ups. All year round, both teams have traded wins and titles. Their most recent televised encounter was last week where Kofi Kingston and Big E (in honor of their fallen pal, Xavier Woods) defeated The Revival to win their seventh tag team title. And now, the proud southern people are ready to fight, saying YEAH to a title rematch.

Which is … odd … given WWE wiped automatic rematches from their canon about a year or so ago. But hey, it’s WWE. When has WWE ever remained consistent with their continuity? Hell, when has wrestling in general ever been 100% in-line with consistent continuity?

Ah well. All this means is that we’re going to get yet another mat classic from New Day and The Revival. Although, it’s unlikely New Day lose their titles this soon. In all likelihood, they beat The Revival to book end their feud, then move on to facing War Machine and Undisputed Era on behalf of SmackDown at Survivor Series. Which, speaking of, don’t be surprised if one of those team run-in during or after the match to take out their future Team SmackDown opponents.

Prediction: New Day (potentially get attacked by Raw or NXT)
