AEW Dark: Results, Grades, and Analysis for November 20, 2019
Cody interviewed Justin Roberts and he talked about the time he felt undesirable when he was fired.
He talked about trying different things he did outside of wrestling and that he loved those things, but it was Being the Elite, New Japan, and ultimately AEW that helped him realize that wrestling was really his passion.
Dasha and Tony Schiavone discussed MJF and Cody, and Dasha promised to find out more about Wardlow and who he was in the days to come
Tony let us know that the match featuring the Young Bucks and Strong Hearts was recorded before AEW Dynamite last week, so Matt Jackson was not yet powerbombed through the stage by Proud and Powerful, which is why we are seeing it here. I liked that little touch to explain why Matt and Nick weren’t selling their injuries here.
Strong Hearts (Lindaman & T-Hawk) (0-0) vs. The Young Bucks (Matt & Nick Jackson) (6-4)
Nick Jackson started the match with T-Hawk and both men collided with a shoulder block. T-Hawk invited Nick to try again, and T-Hawk didn’t budge. Nick gave him a chance, and Nick ate a shoulder take and dropped. T-Hawk chopped Nick and then Nick hit a dropkick. Matt and Nick hit a combo neck breaker/senton, and then a flipping neck breaker/back breaker.
It was at this point that Dustin used one of his dad’s lines, and he sounded exactly like Dusty, and it was great. T-Hawk chopped Matt Jackson off the top rope and hit an elevated spinebuster on Nick Jackson. Lindaman tagged in and hit a flatliner on Nick. Lindaman went for a deadlift German, but Nick fought out. Lindaman went for another, but Nick kicked him in the head.
Lindaman hit an exploder suplex on Nick Jackson into the corner, and then a second on Matt Jackson. Lindaman put Nick back in his corner, and he tagged out to T-Hawk. T-Hawk hit a popup knee and a chop, and sent Nick into a German suplex on Nick Jackson. Lindaman hit a tope con giro on Matt Jackson, and T-Hawk locked on a submission, but Nick Jackson made the ropes.
Nick and T-Hawk exchanged strikes, and both men were down. Matt Jackson hit a series of rolling Northrn Lights Suplexes and he hit a double one on T-Hawk and Lindaman. T-Hawk chopped Matt Jackson and popped him up into a German suplex on Matt Jackson. Nick hit a running kick on T-Hawk, a slingshot x-factor on Lindaman, and then a moonsault to the floor off the apron on T-Hawk.
The Bucks hit a double superkick on T-Hawk to send hi back to the floor, and they nailed Lindaman with the Meltzer Driver in the middle of the ring for the 3 count! The Young Bucks get a much needed win.
Result: The Young Bucks (7-4)
Rating: ****1/4 (4.25 stars)
This was an excellent tag match that saw the Bucks and Strong Hearts do everything they could to put on a great show. T-Hawk and Lindaman are already fantastic, despite being relatively new to wrestling, as Cima trained them well. The Young Bucks are great as always. I loved this match.
Show Rating: *** (3 stars)
This was a very solid episode of AEW Dark, and it leads nicely into tomorrow’s episode of AEW Dynamite.
