United States Champion AJ Styles vs. NXT North American Champion Roderick Strong vs. Intercontinental Champion Shinsuke Nakamura

Shinsuke Nakamura from SmackDown immediately goes after NXT’s Roderick Strong with knee strikes. Styles and Nakamura brawl inside the ring. Roderick Strong gets back into the ring and attacks Styles. AJ Styles Irish whips Strong and hits a spectacular drop kick to Roderick Strong.

The messiah of the backbreaker, Roderick Strong, then gets back up and hits side backbreakers to both Styles and Nakamura. Nakamura rolls out of the ring as Sami Zayn checks on him. Nakamura attempts to get back into the ring, but Strong hits a running dropkick to Nakamura. Styles brawls with Strong on the apron, but Nakamura pulls Strong’s leg off the apron. Nakamura gets in the ring with Styles and face washes him in the corner.

Nakamura then props Styles onto the turnbuckle and hits a running knee to Styles’ gut. Strong grabs Nakamura from behind and hits a gutbuster to Nakamura for the pinfall. Nakamura kicks out of the pinfall, and Strong locks Nakamura in a submission.

Nakamura wiggles out of it and Styles runs into the ring to lock Strong in a chin lock. Roderick Strong gets out of it and hits knife edge chops and clotheslines to Styles and Nakamura. He then focuses on Styles and hits running knee strike. Nakamura ttempts to attack Strong but Strong hits a side backbreaker to Nakamura. Strong then focuses back on Styles and hits the running forearms to Styles on the ropes, a powerslam, and a pinfall. Styles kicks out.

Styles attempts a Stylin DDT on Strong. Strong counters and irish whips Styles into a spinning heel kick from Nakamura. Nakamura pins Styles, but Strong breaks it up. Nakamura hits mutiple knee strikes to Strong and pinned him, but Styles breaks it up. Styles hits a Russian Leg Sweep to Nakamura. AJ Styles executes a Fireman’s Carry Neckbreaker to Nakamura and the pinfall, but Nakamura kicks out.

Styles attempts the Styles Clash on Nakamura, but Strong runs in with a kick to the back of Styles’ head. Nakamura rolls out of the ring, and Strong proceeds to hit an Olympic Slam and a powerbomb to Styles for the pinfall, but Styles kicks out. Strong puts Styles on the top rope. They are currently in a precarious position. Styles grabs Strong in the electric chair, and Nakamura goes on the top rope to execute a flying back kick to Strong on top of Styles. Nakamura goes for the pinfall on Strong, but Styles breaks it up.

Nakamura kicks Styles out of the ring and signals for the Kinshasa on Strong. Styles attempts to stop Nakamura but Zayn stops Styles. Strong then hits a running knee to Nakamura and pins Nakamura for the 2-count. Nakamura hits a GTS to Strong and signals for the Kinshasa. Styles runs in with a swift forearm.

AJ Styles hits a lariat to Strong. Nakamura hits an imploder powerslam to AJ Styles. Nakamura sprints for the Kinshasa on Strong and the pinfall, but Styles breaks it up at two. Strong rolls out of the ring and Nakamura and Styles face off in the ring. COME ON!

Styles hits a Pele Kick to Nakamura and sprints at Nakamura in the corner. Nakamura counters, goes on the top rope, and hits a flying knee to Styles’ face as well as a Michinoku Driver. Nakamura goes for the pin. Styles kicks out of the pinfall and rolls over to the apron, hits Nakamura with the forearm, and gears up to hit the Phenomenal Forearm to Nakamura. Styles hits it and is about to go for the victory. However, Roderick Strong quickly runs into the ring, tosses Styles out of the ring, and steals the victory over Nakamura for the three-count. NXT is now up 3-1-1, and that is undisputed.

Result: NXT North American Champion Roderick Strong

Analysis: This match was phenomenal. Some great technical wrestling that tends to be under-appreciated in today’s day and age. Definitely a match worth watching, especially for the hardcore wrestling fans. After this match, a backstage segment ensues between Daniel Bryan and The Miz as The Miz attempts to give Bryan advice about defeating Bray Wyatt as if he was his NXT rookie. Daniel Bryan tells The Miz to get out of his face.
