WWE Championship Match: Brock Lesnar (c) vs. Kofi Kingston

Fans get a rematch that should have happened, but never did.

Brock Lesnar and Kofi Kingston have faced off twice, once in a WWE event in Japan called The Beast in the East, and once on the premier of SmackDown on FOX. Unfortunately, both matches were one sided affairs, with Lesnar dominating both bouts.

This should be woven into the story of their feud. Kingston was defeated quickly in both contests and failed to register any believable offense. WWE should highlight that in order to explain why Kingston is so driven to get his rematch against the WWE Champion.

The winner of the Royal Rumble can challenge any WWE Champion they want. Kingston winning the Royal Rumble, and going on to face The Beast at WrestleMania 36 will be how we get to the main event of WrestleMania 36.

Paul Heyman should be able to help lay the groundwork to the story that since Lesnar defeated Kingston so fast, Kingston is not on the level of The Beast. This is important to get the fans behind the challenger, because now the WWE Champion becomes the invincible bully that needs to get knocked off his throne.

The match at WrestleMania 36 should follow the same direction as their two previous matches. Lesnar getting the early offense in, and going for an F-5 early in the match, but this time Kingston kicks out. That is when the previous seeds of the story about how Kingston always loses quickly to The Beast finally can take shape. This match would be different because their previous two matches ended so fast.

The last image of WrestleMania 36 has to be Kofi Kingston regaining the WWE Championship by finally defeating Brock Lesnar.
