WWE TLC 2019: 3 possible opponents for Universal Champion Bray Wyatt
By Mark Justice
1.) Roman Reigns
At Survivor Series 2019, Roman Reigns was the sole survivor for the Men’s Survivor Series Match. Considering that he has been out of the Universal title picture for over a year now, this victory could propel him back into the title picture where he belongs.
He has been out of the Universal Title picture for so long because he was forced to relinquish the Universal Championship in October 2018 due to leukemia. Thankfully, he is in remission and he still has not received his championship rematch for the title he never lost.
This could be a compelling story for Reigns on the road to WrestleMania. Just like Finn Balor, Reigns needs to win back the title he never lost and Bray Wyatt thereby has to be his next target.
Due to the disagreements and tension that stirred up on Team SmackDown at Survivor Series, there is a slight chance Reigns continues and culminates his feud with King Corbin at WWE TLC 2019. However, if this is not the case, there is no question that Reigns has to contend for Bray Wyatt’s Universal Championship, whether it be at WWE TLC 2019 or WrestleMania 36.
Since Reigns is the first draft pick as well as the sole survivor for Team SmackDown at Survivor Series, it would be sensible to stall this match-up until WrestleMania 36. That stage is exactly the big fight field necessary for the reignition of a feud that occurred in 2015 and a fulfilled journey for a cancer survivor who scratches and claws to win his championship back in an inspiring performance.
However, if it happened at TLC 2019, it’ll give the creative team a sufficient amount of time to build up a compelling long-term story between these two main event caliber Superstars on the road to WrestleMania 36.
