Drew McIntyre-Randy Orton Promo
Drew McIntyre is upset about their knife edge chop confrontation last week during the fatal four way number one contender’s match. McIntyre explains why he has a problem with Randy Orton. He basically feels that Orton is disrespectful.
He states that Orton is only ferocious at posting on social media. McIntyre says that he is bigger and stronger than Orton. He claims that Orton is the past and he is the future. Randy Orton then retorts that there is no problem between him and McIntyre but there is a McIntyre reality problem. However, Randy Orton says that if they do have a problem, they can settle it right now.
AJ Styles and The O.C. then interrupt the promo to call out Orton. Luke Gallows calls Orton an unapologetic jerk. Karl Anderson blames Orton for ruining Styles’ life and costing him the United States Championship match. Styles claims that he wants Orton tonight.
McIntyre leaves the ring and leaves Orton to fend off the O.C. on his own. The O.C. then gang up on Orton. Ricochet comes to the rescue like a superhero to help Orton. Humberto Carillo then runs in immediately afterwards to balance out the playing field.
Now, the O.C. is at a disadvantage because United States Champion Rey Mysterio gets into the ring and helps Ricochet and Carillo clothesline the all three members of the O.C. out of the ring.
Results: Rey Mysterio, Ricochet, and Humberto Carillo Save Randy Orton
Grade: 2.0/5.0 Stars
Analysis: This was quite a dumb way to set up these rivalries. It seems pretty confusing that McIntyre would just leave the ring after standing up to Orton. Now, there are four babyfaces that have a problem with The O.C. This is very cluster-like, so we’ll see how this gets booked. Maybe a six-man tag later? There is then a segment backstage showing that Orton claims that he appreciated the assistance from Mysterio, Ricochet, and Carillo but he did not need it.
