CM Punk is working in professional wrestling again as a commentary for FOX’s new show WWE Backstage, and he has nothing nice to say about Hulk Hogan.

WWE fans have high hopes that CM Punk will have a dream feud with, say, Seth Rollins, who has been calling out “The Best in the World” recently, but he isn’t working with the company officially. Punk is a commentator for FOX’s new show WWE Backstage, which is an entertaining “peek behind the curtain” at what’s going on with the show’s weekly programming.

Even as a commentator, Punk has been a breath of fresh air. When he first appeared on the show, he said he would change the culture, and that’s something wrestling has needed for quite some time.

As part of that, Punk had some sharp words for Hulk Hogan, whom he’s been critical of in the past. Hogan has yet to offer a sincere apology for going on a racist rant that included the use of the “n” word, though WWE has been all too willing to welcome him back with open arms.

In a recent interview with Windy City LIVE’s Ryan Chiaverini on 2 Minute Warning, Punk had a simple statement for Hogan in 2019 after being asked if he grew up liking Hogan. (His favorite was Rowdy Roddy Piper.)

Punk said no, then added on Hogan:

"“I’ve met him, and I like him even less now. F–k him.”"

Straight to the point.

There are plenty of wrestling fans who feel the same way about Hogan, whose racism has hurt so many in the wrestling community. The New Day made a statement about Hogan, who, again, has yet to make a “genuine effort” to apologize, better himself, and show he is sincere in his efforts to do better.

As for CM Punk, he’s done his best to be an ally in the wrestling industry and has spoken about the importance of openly taking a stand against racism. Yet Punk is the one ostracized from WWE, while Hogan is celebrated as a legend.
