What will Cody speak on tonight in #AEWChampaign?
Cody made his way down to the ring with a huge reaction from the crowd. Cody said that the scar on his forehead was a reminder of his failure to win the AEW World Championship, and how he failed last week when he was beaten by the Blade & Butcher.
He talked about how he didn’t have people to help him because the Young Bucks were fighting with Santana & Ortiz and his wife was busy cutting of the hair of defenseless women, and MJF betrayed him.
Cody said that he could have a match with Butcher & Blade and offered to let them pick his partner. Cody moved on to MJF, saying MJF said that he would never wrestle Cody. Cody said that he hand picked MJF, and they will have to fight.
Cody called MJF a bush league NWO version of Chris Jericho and buried his Cross Rhodes. Cody said that he wasn’t naïve. He knew MJF was a bad guy, but that he was Cody’s bad guy.
Cody offered MJF his truck and one of a kind watch to fight, and then offered his shoes. Cody had Justin Roberts come into the ring with a briefcase full of cash, and he offered over $50,000 cash to fight MJF. To prove it was real, Cody gave $100 to a kid in the front row.
Cody said that he believed that MJF was the future, but the future comes with an education, and he was going to beat him down and make him bleed. This promo was incredible. Cody Rhodes is one of the best babyfaces in wrestling.
Joey Janela was backstage with Alex Marvez and he talked about wanting to fight Jon Moxley. He said the last match was unsanctioned, and this one will actually count. Janela said that Moxley would have to kill him, and Moxley walked onto the screen and said, “Kids,” to Marvez and walked away.
