AEW Hot Takes of the Week: There are too many similar factions
By Dalton Quix
Another Week of AEW Dynamite is in the books, and the hottest alternative wrestling brand has once again sparked up the hottest takes on the internet about pro wrestling.
Ever since its inception, everyone has had an opinion on AEW, and all the opinions are all over the place. People have been craving a mainstream alternative to WWE’s programming for years now, and AEW, for the past couple of months, AEW Dynamite has been a promising solution.
One thing that AEW is doing differently is providing a little bit of something for everyone. Rather than watching WWE’s tried and true formulaic product, fans are able to see something completely different in each segment. AEW can go from pure technical wrestling to comedy to high flying to borderline death matches to emotional storytelling without missing a beat and leave everyone of all different tastes satisfied.
However, despite the positive start, AEW has met its fair share of critics. Some argue that the wrestlers are too unbelievable, or the gimmicks are too outlandish, or match psychology does not make sense, or they just are team WWE, and there is nothing AEW can do to change that.
The way I see it, AEW is just the inverse of John Cena. This is in the sense that hardcore wrestling fans would hate on him, whereas casuals and kids would love him, but with AEW, that demographic is reversed. The polarizing company may get some hate, but any reaction is better than no reaction, right?
Well, whether pro wrestling fans love or hate AEW, hot takes are being skewered about the company at a record pace, and I’m here to offer up some of my own.
AEW Dynamite aired last night, and to catch up on what happened, check out Daily DDT’s recap of the episode by our very own Josiah MacDonald.
