4. Tomohiro Ishii and Yoshi Hashi v Minoru Suzuki and Lance Archer

Since being mathematically eliminated from the tournament, Suzuki and Archer’s aim in this league was to cause damage to the other teams. This match was no exception and it was probably the toughest test for the Stone Pitbull and Yoshi Hashi who had been on a very good streak during the tournament.

Before the bell even had a chance to ring, Suzuki Gun were on the march and spent the entire time, interestingly, isolating Ishii. Noticing the knee injury Ishii had sustained early in the tour, the sadistic duo targeted that injury throughout. With chops and kicks to that knee, it seemed as if Ishii was in a bad way and this was only worsened after Suzuki got Ishii in a leg lock for what seemed like forever.

It looked as if the Stone Pitbull was ready to tap our or Red Shoes was ready to make the decision to call the match off. However, nothing can keep Ishii down and he fought through and broke the hold. His amazing teamwork with Yoshi Hashi was really on show here as, without him, I don’t think Ishii would’ve got through it.

With Yoshi Hashi keeping Lance Archer outside of the ring, Ishii had enough time to turn the tables on Suzuki and hit him with the vertical brain buster to pin the King. Both teams put on an amazing showing, and it was pure heart that got the win for Ishii and Yoshi Hashi.

Although it was a win for the Chaos duo, Suzuki and Archer achieved their goal and inflicted a whole lot of pain on Ishii. This might be something that affects him in the run up to Wrestle Kingdom, the time when athletes need to be more than 100%.
