We’re a few weeks away from a New Year, a new decade, and – most importantly – the start of a new year for the fledgling AEW. The new promotion has a plethora of talent waiting in wings who are destined for a big push in 2020.

From the moment that the Young Bucks, Cody, Kenny Omega and Tony Khan announced the creation of AEW, professional wrestling fans looked forward to the potentially sterling scouting job these individuals would perform to build up their new promotion’s roster.

That potential turned into a reality less than a year later on New Year’s Day 2019.

Since then, established stars like Chris Jericho, Jon Moxley and the aforementioned Bucks, Cody, and Omega have helped add a sense of legitimacy to the product as they navigate through the trials and tribulations any company has in its infancy stage.

While those big names do draw crowds, sell merchandise and call the shots behind the scenes; it is All Elite Wrestling’s growing crop of up-and-coming talent who will be placed under the microscope for the sake of this article.

All divisions aside, I have listed a group of five wrestlers poised for a breakout – dare I say, elite – year in 2020.
