The Bar

The Bar was one of the most credible tag teams on WWE television. This was the rare success of taking two singles stars, Cesaro and Sheamus, and putting them in a tag team because to their singles careers treading water.

Due to years of seeing thrown together tag teams that go their separate ways two weeks later, it took a while for fans to take The Bar seriously. Both men went “oh that’s Sheamus and Cesaro” to “oh those guys are The Bar”. This was due to an excellent stretch of matches with opponents up and down the tag team division.

Since his injuy, Sheamus has yet to return to in-ring competition. Answering the open challenge from Erik and Ivar would be an incredible opportunity to reunite The Bar. In order for The Viking Raiders to become a more credible tag team, they have to defeat credible tag teams. Talent gets stronger in the eyes of the fans when they work with stronger talent.

A match between opponents like The Bar could do just that. The Bar’s ability to match strength with Erik and Ivar would go a long way for the champions. The Bar wouldn’t gain much from winning this match. It could open up a door to tell a story of their eventual break up with a loss to The Viking Raiders.
