Maxwell Jacob Friedman

Every time Maxwell Jacob Friedman (MJF) appears on my television to cut a promo or work a match, two thoughts cross my mind: “Wow, this guy is only 23 years old!” and “He’s going to make A LOT of money as some promotion’s top heel.”

We knew MJF would have a rebuttal ready after Cody called him a “knockoff Chris Jericho” and offered a bevy of worldly possessions in exchange for a match with him and as was the case with Batman for The Joker in The Dark Knight, the young rudo didn’t disappoint.

No, MJF didn’t let five people die and have Harvey Dent take his place, but he did make Cody pay for fomenting a verbal spat with one of the few guys on the roster who could match him on the microphone.

Once he finished belittling a stagehand, Friedman got to roasting Cody’s bleach blonde hair, his Gary Busey-esque teeth (his words), and his illusory connection with the fans before eventually announcing that he would, in fact, wrestle Cody one-on-one … with Feidman being allowed to choose the stipulation.

One would presume that the stips will involve Cody getting a chance to fight for the AEW World Championship again or MJF affixing a provision that he never has to face Cody again if he wins, but we won’t know for sure until January.
