Roman Reigns vs. King Corbin (w/Drake Maverick) [TLC Match]

King Corbin enters the ring and cuts a promo about how Reigns will learn to respect his king. Roman Reigns does not get a chance to enter the ring since Drake Maverick runs in to stop Reigns. Reigns retaliates by powerbombing Maverick into a table.

Reigns then proceeds to fight King Corbin in the crowd. They get back into the ring, but Corbin rallies back with a Deep Six and the two-count. Reigns tries to rally back with an Irish Whip, but Corbin counters and maneuvers himself around the ring post to deliver a running clothesline to Reigns for the two-count.

Corbin hurls Reigns into the steel steps and smashes the ladder on top of Reigns’ back. He tosses Reigns back into the ring and whacks Reigns with the steel chair. He wedges the steel chair at the corner turnbuckle between the second and third ropes. He attempts to slam Reigns through it, but Reigns counters with an uppercut and a flying clothesline.

He focuses on Corbin in the corner with ten clotheslines and a big boot after rebounding off the ropes. Reigns signals for the Superman Punch. King Corbin counters with the Chokeslam. Reigns counters that and Irish whips Corbin into the chair. Corbin avoids the chair and maneuvers himself around the steel post to deliver a Chokeslam Backbreaker for the two-count.

Corbin goes at the corner to taunt Reigns with the ‘HOOORAAAA” and attempts the Spear but Reigns counters the Spear with a shoot kick to Corbin’s bald head and a Superman Punch for the two count. The crowd chants “We Want Tables” and Reigns organically grabs a table and sets it up in the ring.

Reigns checks up on Corbin, but Corbin whacks Reigns with a dog food can and chokeslams him through the table for the two-count. Corbin drapes the announce tables outside the ring, grabs Reigns in the ring, and tosses him outside the ring to potentially crash him through the announce tables. He picks up Reigns on the announce table in a powerbomb position, but Reigns counters with a Samoan Drop through the announce table.

The disdain between these two is unreal in this hellacious battle. Reigns shouts ‘HOOORRAAA’ and runs around the ring to deliver a Spear to King Corbin through the barricade wall, but he runs into a Super Kick by Dolph Ziggler outta nowhere. Corbin tosses one of their security guards onto the floor and he and Ziggler get dog food and handcuffs to punish them for not getting the job done. Reigns then runs in with a Drive By to Corbin and Ziggler on the apron.

All the security guards run in to charge at Reigns but Reigns attacks all of them with a kendo stick. The Revival then runs in to stop Reigns but Reigns delivers Superman Punches to both Dawson and Wilder. King Corbin runs to capitalize but Reigns tosses Corbin outside the ring.

Corbin, The Revival, and the security guards are all outside the ring. Reigns rebounds off the ropes and suicide dives onto everyone outside the ring. He tosses Corbin back into the ring and gets ready for the Spear with the ‘HOOORRAAAA,’ but Ziggler runs in with a steel chair attack to Reigns. and a Zig Zag. Crowd is chanting ‘Uso,’ but Usos do not show up.

The Revival deliver a Shatter Machine to Reigns and King Corbin follows that up with the End of Days on the steel chair for the three-count pinfall and the victory.

Result: King Corbin

Grade: 3.5/5.0 Stars

Analysis: Did the WWE really need ten people to help King Corbin beat Roman Reigns? Wow, that is a sad outlook but it’s true. It would have probably been better off if Reigns just won, but King Corbin needs to maintain his prestige as King of the Ring so this was WWE’s way of keeping both men looking strong in this bout. Despite the questionable booking decision, the match was a solid spotfest and the inclusion of the dog food was a nice added touch from a storyline standpoint. What a 2019 for King Corbin. It will be interesting to see if Reigns will ever defeat Corbin, which he hasn’t done yet. It is quite lucid that this feud is far from over. A promo package is then shown for Bray Wyatt and The Miz, as their match is coming up NEXT!
