WWE TLC 2019: 5 biggest takeaways from the PPV
Whether he’s main eventing or opening, Kofi Kingston is still incredible
If we are going to talk about stealing the show, we could not possibly ignore Kofi Kingston’s performance during him and Big E’s successful title defense against The Revival in a Ladder Match during the main card’s opener.
2019 (and, arguably, this entire decade) truly belonged to Kofi Kingston, but just as big as his climb towards the top was, his fall from grace was just as monumental. After holding the WWE Championship for six months, all it took was eight seconds for his reign to come to an abrupt conclusion, as was his main event run.
Many fans were shocked, confused and disappointed for Kofi Kingston to be discarded from the World Championship picture as quickly as he was just to unceremoniously return to the tag team scene with Big E, but as with everything in life, there is a silver lining.
That silver lining being that no matter where he is placed on the card, be it the first match of the night or the last, Kofi always delivers every time with a phenomenal performance and he did just that last night. Not taking anything away from Scott Dawson, Dash Wilder, or Big E, but whether he inflicted damage or received it, Kofi stood out the most with jaw dropping spots.
Performances like that is exactly why fans fell in love with the man to begin with and how KofiMania came to be. Hopefully, whether as a singles star or a tag team star, 2020 is an even bigger year for Kofi Kingston.
