2.) Carmella

From a pro wresting-based standpoint, the in-ring psychology between Carmella and Bayley would be off the charts when considering their best friendship in NXT. As can be evidenced by matches between pairs like Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn, Becky Lynch and Charlotte Flair, and Johnny Gargano and Tomasso Ciampa, best friends clearly have amazing chemistry in the ring. As a former MITB winner and SmackDown Women’s Champion, she had a similar path to Bayley in capturing the SmackDown Women’s Championship and thereby has an edge over the other superstars on the roster to be strongly considered as a contender for the championship.

From a business standpoint, it’s pretty straightforward: Carmella is money. If the WWE puts Carmella in any segment, she is bound to juice up the spice and make everything nice in a fun filled paradise. In other words, Carmella can really pack the punch when it comes to any rivalry she partakes in because she simply has the ‘It’ factor on the mic, and her issues with Bayley and Sasha Banks being on the top of the SmackDown Women’s Division could not be anymore obvious.

From a storyline standpoint, the WWE needs to stop overlooking and start capitalizing on Carmella’s new babyface role in championship matches as well as on her historical friendship with Bayley from NXT. As can be evidenced by her tweeting, she must be pretty salty or jealous about the newly heel Bayley hanging out with the ‘money-making’ Sasha Banks now. This probably explains why Carmella assisted Charlotte Flair in fending off Bayley and Banks on the Sept. 17 episode of SmackDown Live and further shows that Carmella would be very useful in this rivalry if she were to draw a rift between Bayley and Banks on the road to WrestleMania 36.
