WWE: 5 NXT wrestlers who could appear on RAW in 2020
There were many debuts on Monday Night RAW in 2019. One of the more recent debuts was Deonna Purrazzo appearing on Monday Night RAW to face Asuka. Purrazzo did not win the match, but she made quite an impression on the WWE Universe.
This option to have a WWE NXT wrestler – who may not be getting a good amount of television time yet – appearing on RAW is a creative idea for an introduction.
NXT has a treasure case of talented wrestlers on their roster that are not featured on television on a weekly basis. We live in an era where wrestlers have developed such a following on social media that when they do appear on WWE television, it feels like an exciting moment.
While not every appearance on RAW, SmackDown, or NXT for untested wrestlers will be a home run, it still is a viable idea to see who will be the next wrestler to appear in the same cameo type fashion of Deonna Purrazzo.
Chelsea Green
After the impressive match that Deonna Purrazzo had with The Empress of Tomorrow, introducing Chelsea Green as the next opponent for Asuka on RAW would present a great opportunity. There is a story to tell with Chelsea Green taking on Asuka.
This is a win-win situation for all parties. Purrazzo and Green can look impressive in defeat by putting on impressive performances against Asuka while getting an introduction to the RAW viewers. Meanwhile, such it also strengthens Asuka as she heads to the Royal Rumble to face The Man.
It’s been confusing trying to understand why two talented wrestlers like Green and Purrazzo haven’t had a more prominent role on NXT. Unlike other WWE brands, NXT has earned the benefit of the doubt with fans, so there is a confidence that both women’s time will come, and they will be given a fair chance to succeed.
Until that time comes for Green, an opportunity on RAW to step in the ring with Asuka is a big step to introducing her to fans. This match should be more than your standard squash match. It could tell a story of two friends that are teaming up to try and knock off the dominant Asuka.
Chelsea Green may not win the match, but she could win the hearts of the WWE Universe.
