#1 – Kofi Kingston  wins the WWE Championship at WrestleMania 35

This was the feel good moment of 2019. Kofi Kingston was overlooked for over a decade in WWE. He was always been one of the most consistent wrestlers in WWE, but was stuck in a middle of the card. Every time that Kingston was on television, he would put on an entertaining match, but never got close to the main event level.

This changed in the beginning of 2019 when Kofi Mania became one of the hottest topics heading to WrestleMania 35. While WWE did repeat a lot of the same storyline with Kingston as they did with Daniel Bryan in 2014, there were deeper layers with the story of Kingston being held back.

One of the most gratifying parts of the build to WrestleMania 35 was the depth that Kingston showed in his promos. The lovable and fun character became serious with a rare level of intensity. This change in direction was pivotal to help sell this match

He faced Daniel Bryan at WrestleMania 35. The match was an emotional rollercoaster with countless moments where fans held their breath in hopes that Kingston would defeat Bryan to become WWE Champion. When Kingston won the WWE Championship, it was a moment where even the most cynical wrestling fan could be emotionally invested in.

The moment represented different things for every fan. This was the crowning achievement for Kofi Kingston. He was a great WWE Champion as someone who both fans and the company could be proud of.
