Seth Rollins and Rey Mysterio will have a United States Championship match on tomorrow night’s episode of WWE Raw, and here are three possible finishes.

WWE Raw has a new top heel in Seth Rollins, who obtained a match for the United States Championship on last week’s episode of the show by callously attacking Rey Mysterio. Rollins used the Authors of Pain to overwhelm Mysterio, and after pretending to make peace with the future Hall of Famer, he Stomped him like a coward.

Mysterio challenged Rollins to a match, but, really, he simply rewarded the opportunistic Architect by gifting him a title match. And it was a title opportunity that members of the Raw roster were fighting for in a ruined Gauntlet Match on that same episode.

It will be Rollins who gets a crack at Mysterio’s title on the Dec. 23 episode of Raw, though, and here are three possible finishes for this highly-anticipated matchup between two of the best wrestlers in the world.

Rey Mysterio wins via roll-up

WWE probably don’t want Rey Mysterio to drop the United States Championship less than a month after he beat AJ Styles for the title, but they also probably don’t want Seth Rollins to be pinned by a finisher so quickly after turning heel.

Rollins was once booked as a cowardly heel with protection, and he took several losses during his heel run earlier in the decade. But one of the fans’ chief complaints about his heel run with The Authority was his weak booking in the ring.

If WWE don’t want a funky finish but don’t want a convincing loss, a fluky loss that angers Rollins could be the “happy medium” here. And the way to achieve that is to have Rollins lose to Mysterio by roll-up.
